- When we lose weight we often lose muscle mass as well as fat. The problem is, the lower our muscle mass, the lower and slower our metabolic rate. This can lead to a plateau or simply a hard time maintaining. If we can increase our muscle mass with strength training our body burns more all the time. Win Win.
